whitening

Whether it’s your entire smile or just one tooth, we can help you lift stains and reveal a more youthful, brilliant smile.

Over time, our teeth can develop stains and lose their bright white color, becoming dingy-looking. This is caused by a number of factors, including:

  • Age – as our teeth age, the outer layer of enamel can thin and wear down to reveal the yellow-tinted inner layer
  • Food and Drink – super-pigmented foods and drinks like coffee and wine can stain your teeth over time, and acidic foods like tomatoes can also eat away at your enamel
  • Tobacco – the tar and nicotine in tobacco products create deep, long-lasting stains
  • Medications – certain medications including chemotherapy, antibiotics, and antihistamines can have a staining effect

Teeth whitening is a quick, affordable, and non-surgical procedure with long-lasting results, and one of the simplest ways to help you love your smile again. We provide both in-office treatments and take-home kits, so you can whiten your teeth in whatever way is most convenient for you.

Teeth whitening is a simple process, in which a whitening product containing either hydrogen peroxide or carbamide peroxide is applied to your teeth to break down and remove the stains on your teeth, revealing a brighter smile.

An in-office whitening procedure involves applying a bleaching agent to your teeth, and can be completed within one hour. Depending on the bleaching agent we use, your teeth’s color can be improved by up to eight shades — with results visible on the same day. At-home kits are more gradual, with less dramatic results, but can be performed by you in the comfort of your own home.

In some cases, patients may experience tooth sensitivity from the whitening agents. This sensitivity is generally temporary, and can be resolved by delaying your whitening treatment, then trying again at a later date.
